What are voucher codes / discount codes?

Retailers and other shops whether online or on the High Street often run promotions from time to time. These are either printable and presentable at the store or in the form of online codes which give you discounts at checkout. This may be in the form of money off your shopping, free delivery, free gifts or other bonuses. Simply visit Voucher Kingdom regularly, subscribe to the RSS feed (What is an RSS feed?) or sign up to our weekly newsletter to be kept up to date with the latest offers.

How do I use a voucher code for online transactions?

Simply follow the instructions on the Voucher Kingdom store page. Typically, you will be given a code which you can apply to your shopping basket once you've placed items in your basket. Lookout for the box that says voucher, discount or coupon code. Voucher codes can sometimes be case sensitive so make sure you keep the case the same.

What happens if the voucher code or discount code has expired?

At Voucher Kingdom we constantly monitor the voucher codes to make sure that they are still valid. However, sometimes the occasional code falls through the gap or the expiry date is not known at posting and it is no longer valild. We regret if you ever experience this inconvience and promise we'll try our best to mark the code as expired as soon as possible. If you do stumble across a discount code that has expired, please do email us at expired@voucherkingdom.com and for your efforts we'll enter you into the prizedraw to win GBP500 to thank you for your efforts. Alternatively, click on the 'I have expired' link next to the code and email us to let us know that you've reported it so that we can add you to the draw.

What happens if the voucher code or discount code says invalid?

At Voucher Kingdom we try out best to make sure that codes are working as advertised. We know how frustrating it can be when shopping and expecting a particular discount only to find that it doesn't work properly. We accept codes from other members of the Voucher Kingdom community and attempt to validate them. However, sometimes we don't know what the terms and conditions for use are, some voucher codes / discount codes may be limited to first time buyers, may require a minimum purchase, may exclude delivery charges or may only be valid for certain dates. Check the error message you receive just in case if gives a hint as to what's wrong. We will be adding the functionality for members of the Voucher Kingdom community to add comments next to codes to help us all keep on top of the vouchers and to make sure they deliver what they promise. We can't accept any responsibility for the validity of the codes but will mark them as expired as soon as we verify them as not working.

What are printable vouchers?

Something of a more recent phenomoen in the new 'Credit Crunched' world, High Street retailers are starting to offer vouchers that you print off at home (or work) and use in store. Typically they are for strategic marketing campaigns and can last anything from one day to a week. Recent notable success include 20% off Selfridges ; 2-for-1 at Pizza Express ; 20% off House of Fraser and 20% of Habitat to name a few.

Please keep a close eye out for the small print on the vouchers as the offers are often subject to terms and conditions such as Monday to Thursday only (typically for the meal based offers) or excluding certain brands or electricals for the shopping discount vouchers.
