5 Reasons to be cheerful from Voucher Kingdom - 24 January 2009

We should all be proud of ourselves, we've all made it past Monday 12th January, reportedly the most depressing day of the year due to the cold winter and post-Christmas blues and bills. To mark the occasion the team here at Voucher Kingdom thought we would come up with some ideas of how to keep yourself cheerful through the cold winter's day.

  1. Take a break from the news!
    Turn on the TV today and you are greeted with tales of doom and gloom. Take a moment to give yourself a positive news day. The Good News Network is probably a good place to start. Remember, don't panic, everything's going to alright (we hope!)
  2. Undertake some retail therapy on the cheap
    There are some great deals out there at the moment as the sales near the end and the bargains are certainly there to be had. We've got loads of great voucher codes on the web site.   3. You can always go on holiday (vacations for our American cousins)
    Holidays don't have to be expensive and there are plenty of ways of saving money. My top travel money saving tips would be:
    1. Travel off-peak - avoid Friday and Sunday evenings and stay a Saturday night (flights tend to be cheaper that way)
    2. Don't forget that packages can sometimes be cheaper than flights and hotels separately
    3. Consider renting an apartment rather than staying in a hotel - that way you can cook for yourself and your family as well
    4. Collect Frequent Flyer miles - either when you fly or with your weekly shopping at places like Tesco. They soon add up
    5. Remember that it's not always where you go but who you are with that makes it special

  4. It's going to be spring before you know it!
    I'm constantly amazed what you can find online.. but here it is, a countdown to spring!
